Biographical Information

Kane Davis has pitched five seasons in the major leagues and many years in the minors.

After attending Spencer High School, Davis started his minor league career in 1993, turning age 18 in June of that year. By 1995 he was with Augusta, going 12-6, and the next year he pitched for Lynchburg, going 11-9.

He came up for eight games in the majors in 2000, split between the Cleveland Indians and the Milwaukee Brewers.

Although he had primarily been a starter up to this point, the year 2001 found him converting to a reliever. From 2001-07 in the minors he was exclusively a reliever.

He came back up in 2001 to pitch in 57 games for the 2001 Colorado Rockies, and was up with the 2002 Mets for 16 games.

While Davis was mostly pitching at the AAA level while in the minors, in parts of 2003-04 and all of 2006 he was in independent ball.

He came up to the majors again in 2005 for 15 games, with the Milwaukee Brewers again, and posted an ERA of 2.70 on a team whose ERA was 3.98. He returned to the majors in 2007 with the 2007 Phillies for 11 games. The Phils won the division that year but Davis did not appear in post-season play.

After years as a reliever, in 2008 he pitched as a starter for Syracuse.

Davis has pitched in the minors for eight different major league organizations, not counting his second time around with Milwaukee and with Cleveland.

In all in the majors, he has pitched in 125.1 innings, with 96 strikeouts.

He was signed partway through the 2008 season by the Kia Tigers of South Korea and went 2-5 with a 3.98 ERA for them.
