Justin Lazarus is an infielder. He played for South Africa in the 2003 World Youth Championship and 2006 World Junior Championship. During 2008, he appeared for the Mannheim Tornados in Germany's Bundesliga, going 10 for 21 with 2 walks, a double and a triple and fielding .962 in 8 games as a backup 2B/3B. In the playoffs, he was hit .188/.212/.281 while splitting third base duties (he appeared in 8 contests). He was on South Africa's roster for the 2009 World Baseball Classic. In the Classic, he batted once, pinch-hitting for Ashley Scott and striking out on three pitches from Cuba's Ismel Jiménez.
