Biographical Information

Junpei Horimai has been on the Japanese national team.

After college, he played for Toshiba in the industrial leagues. He was on Japan's preliminary roster for the 2017 Asian Championship but did not make the final cut. He appeared in the Asia Winter League in 2017. He made Japan's squad for the 2018 Asian Games, backing up Shoji Kitamura at 2B and Sho Aoyagi at SS. He was 3 for 5 with a double, two steals, two runs and three RBI, getting all of his hits, runs and RBI in a rout of Thailand. He sat out the Gold Medal Game, which Japan lost.
