Biographical Information[edit]

Junior Rincón has pitched in the minors and for the Dominican national team.

Rincón was signed by Florida Marlins scouts Albert Gonzalez and Sandy Nin in 2010. [1] He debuted as a pro by going 0-2 with a save, a 13.50 ERA and a 3.26 WHIP in 11 games for the 2011 DSL Marlins. He missed 2012 due to injury. [2] In 2013, he pitched for the Batavia Muckdogs (7 R, 5 ER in 7 IP) and GCL Marlins (Sv, 3.65 ERA in 10 G).

A free agent after the Marlins let him go, he signed with the Milwaukee Brewers for 2014. He was 0-1 with a 10.31 ERA and 2.67 WHIP for the Helena Brewers. Back with the same club the next year, he was much better (6-4, 3 Sv, 4.65, 38 K in 31 IP). He tied for 4th in the Pioneer League in wins. In 2016, he pitched for the Biloxi Shuckers (1-1, 3.80 in 21 G) and Brevard County Manatees (0-2, Sv, 3.50 in 19 G), striking out 62 in 59 2/3 IP as he continued to show progress.

He made his winter league debut with the Leones del Escogido, giving up two runs in 2 1/3 IP. He spent part of the summer of 2017 in the Atlanta Braves chain with the Mississippi Braves (0-1, 4.76 in 3 G) and Florida Fire Frogs (1-1, 4.84 in 7 G). That winter, he pitched four shutout innings for Escogido. He signed with the independent York Revolution for 2019 and was 1-4 with 10 saves and a 2.93 ERA. He was 9th in the Atlantic League in saves.

That winter, he pitched in Venezuela for the Caribes de Anzoátegui with a 2.57 ERA in six games. [3] He pitched one game for the Dominican Republic when they won the 2019 Pan American Games Qualifier to get a spot in the 2019 Pan American Games; in the semifinals against Team Canada, he relieved Ramón García in the 2nd with one out and worked 1 2/3 IP (2 H, 2 R, 2 ER, BB, 2 K) before Pedro Viola relieved in what would be a 10-7 victory for the Dominican squad.
