Biographical Information[edit]
Catcher June Raines played in the minor leagues from 1959-1968 in the Cleveland Indians (1959-1966) and Washington Senators (1967-1968) chains.
Raines was an assistant coach at University of South Carolina from 1969-1972 while working on his bachelor's and master's degrees. He was a catching instructor for the Philadelphia Phillies from 1973-1974 and managed the Auburn Phillies in 1975.
Raines was the head coach at the University of South Carolina from 1977 to 1996, taking the Gamecocks to the College World Series in 1977, 1981, 1982, and 1985.
