Biographical Information[edit]

Jun-Lang Wang was an outfielder and manager in the Chinese Professional Baseball League.

Wang played for the Taiwanese Air Force team then was with the Brother Hotels club from 1984-1989. When the CPBL was formed in 1990, he remained with the Brother organization, now under the Brother Elephants club name. He hit .227/.288/.281 in 1990, .283/.334/.381 in 1991, .271/.321/.375 in 1992, .242/.298/.338 in 1993 and .186/.222/.225 in 1994. Wang hit .294/.333/.294 in the 1993 Taiwan Series to help the Elephants beat the Uni-President Lions in 6 games. He moved to the Jungo Bears in 1995 and hit .230/.285/.259. In 1996, he was a backup for the Sinon Bulls, hitting .252/.277/.278. He was at .359/.382/.406 after 24 games in Sinon before retiring as a player to become Sinon's manager on May 3. Wang managed Sinon from 5/3/97 through 2001, going 200-217-11. He took the team to the 1998 Taiwan Series and 2000 Taiwan Series, but lost both in seven games. He was the coach of the TransWorld University‎ from 2002 to 2005.

Overall, Wang hit .251/.301/.321 with 368 hits and 63 doubles in 8 seasons in the CPBL. He was 201-216-11 as a manager.
