Julius Denyo was a reliever for the Ghanaian national team in the 1999 All Africa Games. He pitched in their opener, relieving Ishmael Abayaa with one out in the 5th against Lesotho. He worked 2/3 of an inning and walked one before Richmond Dogbe pinch-hit for him. Ghana lost, 18-14. Against Zimbabwe, he relieved Charles Andam with a 24-10 lead in the 7th and tossed one shutout frame (1 H, 1 BB, 1 K) to close it out as a mercy rule win. In his last outing, he replaced Henry Agyepong with a 13-5 deficit in the bottom of the 7th against the Nigerian national team and allowed one unearned run in one inning (1 BB, 1 K). His three appearances tied Abayaa and Andam for the team lead and his 0.00 ERA easily led a team that was at 15.52 overall; Paul Manoma was the only other hurler under 9.00.
