Biographical Information[edit]

Julius Willigrod played ten games in the National League in 1882. Most of his games were in center field for the Cleveland Blues. He hit only .139, but the regular centerfielder, John Richmond, hit .171.

Julius was a teammate of Tom Dolan on both the 1879 Omaha and 1881 San Francisco (Knickerbockers) teams.

He and Julius Matos are the only two major leaguers (through 2008) with the first name "Julius".
