Biographical Information[edit]

Julian Gonzalez played in the minor leagues and Taiwan.

Gonzalez was signed by the California Angels in 1981, and he had a 11.45 ERA in 6 games with the Idaho Falls Angels. He recorded a 8.27 ERA in 10 games with the Salem Angels in 1982, and his ERA was 5.00 in 44 games with the Peoria Suns in 1983. Gonzalez improved to a 2.72 ERA in 52 games with the Redwood Pioneers in 1984, and he was 7th in appearances in the California League (7 behind Brad Blevins). He had a 3.82 ERA in 53 games for the Midland Angels in 1985, and his ERA was 3.42 in 18 games in 1986. He also pitched 19 games for the Edmonton Trappers, but his ERA was 6.75.

In 1987, Gonzalez joined the Chicago White Sox organization, and he had a 3.81 ERA in 26 games with the Daytona Beach Admirals. He also recorded a 5.96 ERA in 4 appearances for the San Jose Bees. Gonzalez then went 3-2 with a 2.27 ERA in 45 games with the South Bend White Sox, and he tied Brian McCormack and Shawn Hathaway for 6th in appearances in the Midwest League. The Mercuries Tigers of the CPBL signed him in 1990, and he was 5-5 with a 3.42 ERA. He pitched 5 2/3 innings with 5 runs allowed in the 1990 Taiwan Series Game 4, and the Wei Chuan Dragons beat the Tigers in 6 games. However, his ERA rose to 5.31 in 13 games in 1991, and he left Taiwan after the 1991 season.
