Biographjical Information[edit]

Juan Kelly is an infielder and occasional catcher who began his professional career in the Toronto Blue Jays organization in 2012. He spent his first two seasons with the DSL Blue Jays, hitting .170 and .254, respectively. In 2014, he moved to the Gulf Coast League and the GCL Blue Jays where he hit a solid .287/.363/.383 in 54 games. In 2015, he split his time between the Vancouver Canadians of the Northwest League and the Lansing Lugnuts of the Midwest League, hitting .249 in 53 games.

He got his first taste of full-season ball in 2016 when he spent the entire year with Lansing. He split his time between first and third base and in 131 games hit .274 with 35 doubles, 12 homers and 67 RBIs. In 2017, he moved up to the Dunedin Blue Jays of the Florida State League where he had another fine year, hitting .272/.342/.412 in 130 games. He hit 29 doubles and 10 homers, continuing to display solid extra-base power. In 2018, he was in AA for the first time, with the New Hampshire Fisher Cats of the Eastern League, playing alongside top prospects such as Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Bo Bichette and Cavan Biggio. In 87 games, he hit.221, but with 13 homers and 40 RBIs.
