Biographical Information[edit]
Juan Carlos Moncion played in the minors and for the Aruban national team.
He was on the Aruban team that won the 2010 Senior League World Series. [1] He played for Aruba in the 2010 Pan American Games Qualifying Tournament. In 1 2/3 innings, he allowed two hits, three walks and four unearned runs with no earned runs. [2] He was signed by Cleveland Indians scouts Ramon Pena, Felix Nivar and Miguel Valdez in June 2011. [3]
Moncion was the starting first baseman for the 2012 DSL Indians, fielding .985 and hitting .204/.288/.289 with 30 RBI in 55 games. He was back in the same role the next year, improving to .231/.315/.344 while he fielded .978. In 2014, he was 7 for 25 with 7 walks, 6 runs and 3 RBI for the DSL Indians, handling 73 chances error-free. He had batted .221/.311/.314 in 122 games as a pro, with 24 doubles, 61 RBI and 48 walks.
He later coached at Aruba's 297 Baseball Academy. [4]
