Biographical Information[edit]
Juan Bustamante was a minor league pitcher for three years.
Bustamante was 6-5 with a save and a 2.80 ERA for the 2006 DSL Blue Jays, striking out 84 in 70 2/3 IP. He was 7th in the Dominican Summer League in whiffs. In 2007, he had a 5-3, 2.88 record for the DSL Blue Jays 1 with 67 K in 78 IP. He allowed two hits, two walks and one run in one inning for the 2007-2008 Bravos de Margarita while striking out two. His DSL stats were nearly as identical with the 2008 DSL Blue Jays 2 (5-2, 4 Sv, 2.88 in 21 G, 71 K in 59 1/3 IP). He pitched for the Venezuelan national team that won Silver in the 2009 Bolivarian Games and Gold in the 2010 South American Games.
