Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Josh Beal played in the minor leagues from 2007 to 2009. He was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 44th round of the 2009 amateur draft and was signed by scout Mike Keenan.

With the GCL Reds in 2007, he went 1-4 with a 5.48 ERA in 21 games, striking out 25 batters in 21 1/3 innings. In 2008, he was 1-2 with a 2.73 mark in 23 games between the Billings Mustangs and Sarasota Reds and in 2009, he was 1-3 with a 3.38 ERA in 33 games between Sarasota and the Carolina Mudcats. Overall, he went 3-9 with a 3.62 ERA in 77 games.

He is the grandson of Bob Blaylock and the brother of Justin Beal.
