Biographical Information[edit]
Jose King is an infielder who was signed by the Arizona Diamondbacks as an amateur free agent before the 2016 season when he was only 17. He started his professional career that year with the DSL Diamondbacks where he hit .340 in 61 games. That earned him a trip to the United States in 2017, when he was assigned to the AZL Diamondbacks. After 13 games, he was hitting .261 when on July 18th, he was traded to the Detroit Tigers along with Sergio Alcantara and Dawel Lugo in return for OF J.D. Martinez, a sign that he was already on the prospect radar screen while just turned 18.
