Biographical Information[edit]

José Campusano was a minor league outfielder in the Florida Marlins chain.

Campusano was signed by Marlins' scouts Fred Ferreira and Jesus Campos in 2003. He debuted with the 2003 DSL Marlins, hitting .244. In 2004, he batted .255/.319/.352 for the GCL Marlins. He stole only 11 bases, but was thrown out 10 times, most in the Gulf Coast League. The next year, he hit .277/.305/.327 for the Jupiter Hammerheads.

In 2006, Campusano's line was .285/.330/.341 with the Carolina Mudcats and he stole 37 bases in 49 tries. He moved from shortstop to outfield that campaign. His 9 errors led all Southern League flyhawks. Had he qualified, he would have tied Noochie Varner for 8th in the SL in average. He wrapped up his Organized Baseball career with the 2007 Mudcats, batting .259/.286/.352 in 35 contests.

Campusano is with the Dominican national team for the 2010 Central American and Caribbean Games.
