Biographical Information[edit]
Jorge Araiza played three seasons as a pro.
Araiza helped the Ecuadorian national team win a Bronze in the 2005 South American Championship. He was on the Chico teams that played in the 2005 Division II College World Series and 2006 Division II College World Series. Also in 2006, he played for Ecuador in the COPABE qualifiers for the 2008 Olympics; he was 4 for 14 with a double and two walks while playing error-free ball as their second baseman. He hit .289/.325/.441 as a middle infielder for the 2007 Long Beach Armada. In 2008, Jorge was the starting third baseman for the Kalamazoo Kings and hit .263/.353/.361. The next year, he was 7 for 32 with a double and two walks for the Traverse City Beach Bums.
Araiza was a coach for Vanguard University from 2010-2012 and Saddleback College in 2013. He also played for Ecuador when they won a Silver Medal in the 2011 South American Championship.
