Biographical Information[edit]

Jordan Petrushka has been on the Israeli national team.

Petrushka played for Israel in the 2019 European Junior Championship Qualifier; starting at 1B, he hit .167/.500/.250 with six runs and six walks in five games, handling 45 chances error-free. He tied for the event lead in walks, tied for fifth in runs and led in fielding (Oskar Jerfsten was next with 37 error-free chances). [1] In 2020, he hit .222/.300/.278 in 8 games in college before the season was cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic.

As a sophomore, he batted .148/.207/.185. He was a starter for Israel in the 2021 European Championship, mostly in right field with some action at 1B. He produced at a .250/.333/.375 clip with six runs and five RBI in six games, handling 16 chances error-free. In their opener, he scored the winning run on a 10th-inning balk by Adrian Rodríguez. He hit a two-run homer off Great Britain's Spencer Kreisberg. In the Gold Medal Game, his 4th-inning single off the Netherlands' Kevin Kelly scored Mitch Glasser to give Israel a 2-1 lead but they could not hold on; it was still Israel's first European Championship medal. He tied former major leaguer Ty Kelly for 2nd on Israel in runs (one behind Ben Wanger) and was 3rd on the team in RBI (behind Assaf Lowengart and Glasser). [2]
