Biographical Information[edit]

First baseman Jon Tucker played in the Los Angeles Dodgers minor league system from 1995 to 1998 and in the Montreal Expos system in 1998 and 1999. He was taken by the Dodgers in the 8th round of the 1995 amateur draft, a couple of picks after pitcher A.J. Burnett. He hit 13 home runs four years in a row, from 1996 to 1999. Perhaps his best campaign was 1996, when he hit .339/.398/.597 with 13 home runs, 66 RBI, 14 stolen bases and 47 runs scored in 62 games between the Great Falls Dodgers and Savannah Sand Gnats.

On July 31, 1998, he was traded to Montreal with Peter Bergeron, Wilton Guerrero and Ted Lilly in return for Hiram Bocachica, Mark Grudzielanek and Carlos Perez. He is the only one of the players involved in the trade not to have reached the majors.

Overall, he hit .282/.356/.459 with 53 home runs and 284 RBI in 464 games.
