Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Johnny Field began his professional career in 2013. His father Johnny Field Sr. played one season in the Canadian Football League.

He was taken in the 5th round of the 2013 amateur draft by the Tampa Bay Rays; the scout was Jayson Durocher. With the Hudson Valley Renegades in 2013, he hit .252/.299/.370 with 14 steals and a league-leading (tied with Zach Green and Andrew Knapp) 20 doubles. Between Bowling Green and the Charlotte Stone Crabs in 2014, he hit .300/.376/.488 with 12 home runs, 23 stolen bases, 95 runs scored and 36 doubles in 122 games. He then hit .300/.394/.465 with another 14 steals, 10 doubles and 34 runs for the Brisbane Bandits of the Australian Baseball League. He was a MiLB.com Organization All-Star that season.
