Biographical Information[edit]

John Schorling, the son-in-law of Charles Comiskey, was a wealthy white tavern owner. After being involved in sandlot ball in Chicago, IL, he joined with Rube Foster as co-owner of the Chicago American Giants in the Negro Leagues. He was with the team from 1910-1926 and ran the team after Foster became ill, but was forced out by other owners. The team's ballpark, Schorling Park, was named after him.

He was also the brother-in-law of J. Louis Comiskey and Grace Comiskey and uncle of Dorothy Comiskey.
