Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder John Ramos only had a cup of coffee in the majors, as a September call-up with the New York Yankees in 1991. A catcher, he hit .308 in 10 games with 3 RBIs. His minor league career lasted from 1986 to 1996, with seven seasons at AAA. He was selected by the Yankees in the 5th round of the 1986 amateur draft, out of Stanford University.

After his playing career ended, Ramos served as an assistant coach at the University of Tampa in 2011, 2012 and 2013. His wife Lisa was a four-time All-American high jumper and held the NCAA indoor high jump record from 1987-2009.
