Biographical Information[edit]
The owner of the San Diego Padres from 1994 to 2012, John Moores made his fortune in software. Based in Houston, TX, he bought a majority share in the Padres from Tom Werner for approximately $80 million, and sold it for $800 million to a group headed by San Diego, CA businessman Ron Fowler and also including former Los Angeles Dodgers owner Peter O'Malley and pro golfer Phil Mickelson.
