Sir John Moores
Sir John Moores is a member of the British Baseball Hall of Fame.
In 1933, he helped persuade 18 clubs to start using American baseball rules; John Heydler donated a championship trophy due to Moores' work. From 1935-1939, his National Baseball Association which sponsored the London Major Baseball League, North of England League and Yorkshire Baseball League. He helped arrange the 1938 Amateur World Series, the first Amateur World Series ever. He also helped contribute a significant amount of funding for baseball development in Britain.
In 2009, he was one of the first three inductees into the British Baseball Hall of Fame.
