Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder John Drennen was selected by the Cleveland Indians in the 2005 amateur draft. He was signed by scout Jason Smith for $1 million and made his pro debut that summer with the Burlington Indians, hitting .238 with 8 homers and 29 RBIs. He began the 2006 season with the Lake County Captains, where he hit .321 with 6 home runs and 30 RBIs in 67 games before being promoted to the Kinston Indians, where he hit .239 in 31 games.
