Biographical Information[edit]

Joe Landrum pitched 16 games in the majors for the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1950 and 1952. He was two years younger than teammate Duke Snider and the same age as teammate Dick Williams, who was on the 1952 team with him.

Landrum was a high school and college pitching star. In college, he reportedly pitched a no-hitter when matched against Carl Erskine.

He pitched for the Montreal Royals in 1950. He had also been with the Fort Worth Cats.

His major league pitching career was cut short by the Korean War. After his service, he returned to school to get an engineering degree and an ROTC commission.

His son Bill Landrum pitched in the major leagues in the 1980s and 1990s.
