Biographical Information[edit]

Joe Inglett got 201 at-bats as a second baseman with the Cleveland Indians in 2006, was in a couple of games with the Toronto Blue Jays in 2007, and was a back-up infielder/outfielder with the Jays in 2008.

Inglett attended University of Nevada, Reno and was drafted in the 8th round in the 2000 amateur draft by the Indians. He was in Single A ball from 2000 through part of 2003, and then in Double A ball from part of 2003 through 2004 (he hit .320 in 2004). From 2005 through 2007 he has spent at least part of each season in Triple A, although he was briefly in Double A in 2006 and he spent parts of 2006-07 in the majors.

Inglett's first foray into Triple A ball yielded a .330 average in 2005. When he was briefly in Double A in 2006, he hit .516 (in 64 at-bats) and in Triple A that year he hit .299. In Triple A in 2007 he hit .253, a big drop-off.

Inglett, who turned 30 in 2008, played second, short and third, as well as in the outfield, making him a useful back-up player.
