Biographical Information[edit]
Catcher Joe Cusick played several seasons of minor league baseball, mostly in the St. Louis Cardinals system. From 1940 to 1942, he was player-manager for the Albany Cardinals of the Georgia-Florida League. After his playing days, he was a longtime scout. He first scouted for the Cardinals until 1954. While working for the Baltimore Orioles (1955-1963), he signed Mark Belanger, and as a Detroit Tigers scout (1964-1974), he inked Mark Fidrych. He later scouted for the San Diego Padres (1980-1982).
