Biographical Information

Joaquin Santamaria has bounced around the baseball world.

Santamaria was 1-0 with a 4.50 ERA for the DSL Phillies in 2007 while with the Philadelphia Phillies. He moved on to the Washington Nationals chain in 2008; he split time between the DSL Nationals 1 (1-1, 2 Sv, 3.78) and DSL Nationals 2 (1-0, 9.00). In 2009, he was in the Tampa Bay Rays system, going 1-2 with a 6.48 ERA for the DSL Rays with 19 walks and 20 strikeouts in 16 2/3 IP. For 2010, he signed a player development deal with the Chunichi Dragons. He never appeared in a game for the big club and was gone from their developmental roster by September.
