Arias' claim to fame is being the player to be named later in the 2004 deal that sent Alex Rodriguez from the Texas Rangers to the New York Yankees for Alfonso Soriano. He played his best game on August 22, 2012, when he led the San Francisco Giants to an 8-4 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers, completing a three-game sweep at Dodger Stadium; he drove in 5 runs with a 1st-inning homer off Chris Capuano as well as a pair of run-scoring doubles.
He is the brother of Alberto Arias.
