Biographical Information[edit]
Outfielder Jimmy Sebring had only 6 career regular season home runs in the majors, but he also hit the first ever World Series home run, in the 7th inning of Game 1 the 1903 World Series, against Cy Young.
He left his major league team in 1905 to attend to his ill wife in Williamsport, PA and was blackballed by major league teams for playing for an outlaw team during this period. He died of pneumonia in December 1909; he had hopes to make the 1910 Washington Senators.
