Biographical Information[edit]
Jim Morris was 611-475-1 as head coach of Appalachian State University from 1974-1998, winning five Southern Conference titles and setting the school record for wins. He was Coach of the Year in the Southern Conference in 1984. He coached Mike Ramsey at ASU. He later was a broadcaster for Appalachian ISP Sports Network. Interestingly, his assistant coach once was another Jim Morris, who would go on to an even brighter coaching career.
Morris was previously an assistant coach at University of North Carolina in 1973 and a high school coach for four years, including Mount Tabor High School.
