Jim Malone

Jim Malone is a coach.
Malone was a NCSA All-American defensive tackle in college and also won All-American honors in the 1989 Collegiate National Power Lifting Championships (242-pound weight class). He was football and strength coach at the University of Rochester, Princeton University, Albright College and Columbia University before going into baseball.
Malone started off in baseball as the strength coach for the 1997 Watertown Indians, then jumped up to the AAA Buffalo Bisons in 1998. He was minor league strength and conditioning coordinator for the Kansas City Royals in 2000-2001, then became head strength and conditioning coach for the 2002 New York Mets. He was minor league strength and conditioning coordinator for the 2004-2004 Cleveland Indians. In 2006, he joined the San Diego Padres as head strength and conditioning coach, a job he still holds as of 2010. He was elected president of the Professional Baseball Strength and Conditioning Coaches Society in December 2008.
