Biographical Information[edit]

Jim Adduci is the son of 1980s outfielder/first baseman Jim Adduci; he was born in Canada while his father played for the AAA Vancouver Canadians. Jim the junior saw action in five big league seasons, primarily as a spare part with the Detroit Tigers from 2017 to 2018. Adduci last played in the major leagues in 2019 with the Chicago Cubs before spending 2020 as part of the Texas Rangers' 60-man roster pool during the pandemic-shortened campaign.

Adduci retuned to the Cubs organization in 2021 as an Assistant Director for Run Production, a position he retained in 2022. He moved to the major league staff in 2023 when the Cubs named him an assistant hitting coach alongside Johnny Washington. In 2024, he was given the additional title of Game Planning Coach, while two adjuncts replaced Washington, Juan Cabreja and John Mallee.
