Biographical Information[edit]

IF Jay Washington played minor league ball from 2003 to 2009.

Washington became a coach for the Ogden Raptors in 2010-2011 Rancho Cucamonga Quakes in 2013 [1], Great Lakes Loons in 2014 and Oklahoma City Dodgers in 2015. Moving to the San Diego Padres' chain, Washington was a coach for the San Antonio Missions in 2016. In 2017 he was named first base coach with the major league team, then in 2018 moved over to hitting coach. He was dismissed at the end of the 2019 season, following the firing of manager Andy Green. In 2022, he became assistant hitting coach of the Chicago Cubs, where Green was now the bench coach.

In 2024, he was named the hitting coach of the Los Angeles Angels under his namesake, manager Ron Washington.
