Biographical Information[edit]
Jesus Tavarez led the Dominican Summer League with a .394 batting average in 1989.
He was the first player in the history of the Florida Marlins to hit two triples in one game. This came on August 28, 1995, in a 6-4 win over the Houston Astros, in the Marlins' third season. Those were the only two triples he hit that year, and he hit only one more in his career.
He played for the Dominican national team in the 2003 Pan American Games.
