Jeremy Berg made it to AAA two years after being undrafted out of college.

Amateur Career[edit]

Berg had a save and a 5.33 ERA in 18 games as a freshman at Cal State Northridge in 2005, fanning 28 in 25 1/3 innings. He transferred to Ventura Community College, where he was All-Conference. Switching schools again, he came to High Point and had a 3-3, 2.76 record in 29 games in 2008. In 2009, the senior had a 2-4, 1.88 record and saved five games. He was undrafted out of college. Chris McAlpin signed him as a free agent for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

Minor League Career[edit]

Berg started off as a pro with the Orem Owlz in the summer of 2009 and did very well, going 5-0 with a 1.35 ERA in 15 outings, allowing a .204 average and two walks in 26 2/3 IP. In 2010, he pitched for the Cedar Rapids Kernels (4 Sv, 1.17, .200 AVG, 4 BB in 23 IP), Rancho Cucamonga Quakes (1-0, 1.45, 27 K, 2 BB in 18 2/3 IP) and Arkansas Travelers (1-0, Sv, 1.50 in 20 G, .174 opponent average). The next year, he was not as dominant, spending time with both Arkansas (2-1, 3.65 in 9 G) and the AAA Salt Lake Bees (1-1, 3 Sv, 4.70 in 43 G). He led the Angels chain in games pitched.
