Biographical Information[edit]
Jeff Paul played for Team USA and in the minors.
He played for Maine in the 1981 College World Series, 1983 College World Series, 1984 College World Series and 1984 College World Series, hitting .340 or better three times in college. [1] He won Bronze with the US in the 1983 Pan American Games. [2] He also won Silver in the 1983 Intercontinental Cup. [3] The Texas Rangers took him in the 16th round of the 1984 amateur draft,
Making his pro debut with the Tri-City Triplets, he hit .290/.426/.326 with 43 runs and 44 walks in 60 games, but fielded .896 at 3B. He tied for 10th in the Northwest League in runs and tied Pete Coachman for 8th in walks. Most NWL third base starters made more errors. In 1985, he moved to the Cleveland Indians chain and batted .236/.365/.259 for the Waterloo Indians, fielding .925 at the hot corner. He had hit .258/.392/.287 with 97 walks and 71 runs in 150 minor league games.
