Biographical Information

Jeff Knox pitched for five years in the minor leagues, going 42-31 overall.

Knox was chosen in the 17th round of the 1984 amateur draft by the Philadelphia Phillies. He debuted that season with the GCL Phillies, going 2-2 wit ha 3.65 ERA. In 1985, Knox split time between the Spartanburg Suns (11-8, 3.82) and Peninsula Pilots (2-1, 2.25 in 3 games). Jeff was with another two clubs in 1986 - the Clearwater Phillies (10-11, 3.32) and Reading Phillies (2-1, 3.60).

He was then traded with Charles Hudson to the New York Yankees for Tom Barrett and Mike Easler. Knox had his best season at that point, going 11-5 with a 2.64 ERA for the Albany Yankees, finishing second to Rob Lopez in the Eastern League in ERA. Knox also made his only two AAA appearances, both with the Columbus Clippers, allowing 18 hits and 7 runs in 10 1/3 innings of work, picking up a loss.

Knox finished his career in 1988 with Albany (0-0, 7.94) and the Fort Lauderdale Yankees (4-2, 2.01).
