Biographical Information[edit]
Jeff Brookens was a long-time high school sports official. He was a scout for 36 years, for the Chicago Cubs, Milwaukee Brewers, and for the last 18 years of his life, the Cincinnati Reds, signing Chris Heisey, Nick Howard and Devin Mesoraco among others.
Jeff had been recruited to Mansfield State College by his cousins Tom Brookens and Tim Brookens and the three of them were in the same lineup in 1973. He is also related to Ike Brookens, Andy Brookens and Casey Brookens.
