Biographical Information[edit]

Catcher Jeferson Quero was signed by the Milwaukee Brewers as an international amateur free agent on July 2, 2019. After a one-year delay caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, he made his professional debut in 2021 with the ACL Brewers Blue, hitting .309 in 23 games. In 2022, he split the season between the Carolina Mudcats of the Carolina League and the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers of the Midwest League, combining to hit .286/.342/.439 in 95 games, with 10 homers and 57 RBIs. After the season, he played in the Arizona Fall League and was named to play in the circuit's All-Star Game.

His breakout season came in 2023 with the Biloxi Shuckers of the AA Southern League. In 90 games, he hit .262/.339/.441 with 16 homers and 49 RBIs. He was named to play for the National League team in the 2023 Futures Game where one of the backstops on the opposing team was the unrelates Edgar Quero (who is Cuban), was a Southern League postseason All-Star, and won an MiLB Gold Glove for his defensive work behind the plate.By that ôint, he was increasingly being talked about as the Brewers' catcher of the future.
