Biographical Information[edit]

Jean Centeno was a minor league outfielder.

He played for the Dominican Summer League in 2003. In 2004, he hit .296/.403/.439 with 34 runs, 34 RBI and 33 walks in 56 games for the Missoula Osprey. While his numbers were not among the league leaders in the high-offense Pioneer League, he did make the league All-Star outfield alongside Seth Smith and Brian McFall. He faded to .198/.279/.382 with 67 whiffs and 9 homers in 66 games for the 2005 Yakima Bears to end his US career. He tied for 6th in the Northwest League in dingers and was 8th in strikeouts.

As a regular center fielder for the Venezuelan national team in the 2008 Americas Baseball Cup, he hit .286/.400/.476 with a team-high six RBI in eight games. Most of his RBI came on one hit, a grand slam off Miguel Gómez in a win over Panama. He was back with Venezuela for the 2010 South American Games, when they won Gold.
