Biographical Information[edit]
Jaydenn Estanista has pitched in the minors and for the Dutch national team.
He was signed by Philadelphia Phillies scouts Carlos Salas and Dargello Lodowica in November 2019. [1] When the 2020 minor league season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he wound up making his pro debut in 2021, going 1-1 with a save, a 3.23 ERA and 33 K in 30 2/3 IP. In 2022, he was 3-0 with a 2.01 ERA and .96 WHIP for the FCL Phillies, holding right-handed batters to a .118 average. He made the Dutch team for the 2023 World Baseball Classic and did well in his one appearance. Starting versus Italy and Matt Harvey, he retired Sal Frelick to begin the game. He allowed a Nicky Lopez single but retired Dominic Fletcher and Brett Sullivan. In the second, he struck out Vinnie Pasquantino and got Miles Mastrobuoni on a fly. He walked Vito Friscia then Ben DeLuzio hit into a force. Mike Bolsenbroek took over in the third. [2]
Estanista split 2023 between the FCL Phillies (0 R in 1 IP) and the Clearwater Threshers (2-0, 8.51, 27 BB in 24 1/3 IP), encountering his first struggles as a pro. 2024 saw better results with Clearwater (1-0, 3.77, 44 K, 16 H in 31 IP) and the Jersey Shore BlueClaws (1-0, 3 Sv, 3.18 in 15 G). In the 2024 Haarlem Baseball Week, he pitched 1 2/3 shutout innings for the Netherlands. [3] He remained with them for the 2024 Premier 12.
