Biographical Information[edit]
Jason Kelly pitched for Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo in 1999, redshirted in 2000, and pitched at Cuesta College in 2001 and Missouri Valley College in 2002. He helped coach summer college teams in 2002-2004. He worked in baseball operations at Cal Poly in 2003 and Cuesta in 2004.
Kelly became a pitching coach at CSU Chico in 2005-2006, with the team going to the Division II College World Series both years. He then moved to Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo as pitching coach from 2007 to 2012. Kelly moved to the University of Washington from 2013 to 2019, with the team appearing in the 2018 College World Series and also the CWS regionals in 2014 and 2016. He was named 2018 National Assistant Coach of the Year in 2018. He then moved to Arizona State University in 2020-2021 and Louisiana State University in 2022.
Kelly was named head coach of Washington on June 17, 2022, succeeding longtime head coach Lindsay Meggs, who he coached under at Washington. After two seasons, Kelly resigned to become pitching coach at Texas A&M University for 2025.
Kelly's brother, Dustin Kelly, has been a major league hitting coach.
