Biographical Information[edit]

Jason Daniels has pitched in the Pecos League, in Australia, the Czech Republic and France. Daniels excelled in both soccer and baseball while attending Muhlenberg College (NCAA Division III) before choosing to play baseball professionally.

Daniels pitched briefly in the Pecos League in 2012, going 1-2 with a 9.00 ERA in 16.0 IP. He split time between the White Sands PupFish, Roswell Invaders and Las Cruces Vaqueros. During the North American off-seasons, from 2011-2014, Daniels played in Adelaide, Australia, for the Woodville Senators of the South Australian Baseball League (SABL) and the Adelaide Bite of the Australian Baseball League (ABL). During his time with the Bite, Daniels logged 18 2/3 IP, going 0-1 with a 4.82 ERA and 13 strikeouts.

Daniels has been pitching for various teams across Europe since 2013. In his first season in Europe, Daniels led a Kotlarka Praha (Prague) squad to the finals of the Czech Extraliga, before eventually falling to Draci Brno. He was 10-5 with a 2.08 ERA in the regular season, tying Marek Červenka and Trevor Caughey for the league lead in wins. He was 5th in whiffs (98, between Bradley Merritt and Tomáš Duffek) and second to Zach Samuels in ERA.

During both the summers of 2013 and 2014, Daniels was a key member of the International Stars team which won the annual Prague Baseball Week Tournament. Following his season in Prague, Daniels opted to join the ten-time French Division I Champions, the Rouen Huskies, where he teamed up with former Adelaide teammate Owen Ozanich as the main weekend starters. Daniels posted very good numbers in the regular season, going 6-3 with a 1.78 ERA. In the 2014 European Cup, in an extra-innings thriller against the Solingen Alligators, Daniels outdueled former Rouen pitcher Chris Mezger in a game Rouen would go on to win. Rouen were ousted in the semi-finals in 2014. Daniels' 2014 overall numbers with the Huskies were solid: 105 1/3 IP, a 7-5 record, 21 BB, 91 K, 2.14 ERA, 0.98 WHIP.

Following the end of Rouen's season Daniels flew to Hungary to pitch in the playoffs of the Hungarian League. Much like in France his squad was ousted in the semi-finals. Daniels will make the move to Germany in 2015 and pitch for Hamburg.
