Biographical Information[edit]
Jakub Okasa played in the Extraliga and for the Slovakian national team.
Okasa was the youngest player on Slovakia's team in the 2008 European U-21 Championship, a month and four days younger than Michal Ešmír. The 16-year-old allowed 3 runs in 3 1/3 IP. [1] He hit .190/.227/.190 in the 2009 European Junior Championship, fielding .953 and going 0-1 with a 8.31 ERA, losing to the Czech Republic's Marek Červenka. [2] He struggled in the 2012 European Championship 21U (2 for 16, BB, 2B, 2 R, RBI; 5 R, 4 ER in 1 2/3 IP). [3]
Jakub allowed three runs (one earned) in five innings in the 2011 European Championship Qualifiers and got the win over Poland and former minor leaguer Kris Dabrowiecki. [4] He played briefly for Hrosi Brno in 2013, going 1 for 5. [5] In the 2015 B-Level European Championship, he allowed four runs in eight innings to beat Slovenia and was 4 for 8 with two walks, two runs and a RBI on offense, getting the game-winning hit versus Ukraine. He tied for 8th in the event in ERA and was 8th in opponent average (.235, between Serhiy Shtapura and Slobodan Gales). [6]
