Biographical Information

Jakub Okasa played in the Extraliga and for the Slovakian national team.

Okasa was the youngest player on Slovakia's team in the 2008 European U-21 Championship, a month and four days younger than Michal Ešmír. The 16-year-old allowed 3 runs in 3 1/3 IP. He hit .190/.227/.190 in the 2009 European Junior Championship, fielding .953 and going 0-1 with a 8.31 ERA, losing to the Czech Republic's Marek Červenka. He struggled in the 2012 European Championship 21U (2 for 16, BB, 2B, 2 R, RBI; 5 R, 4 ER in 1 2/3 IP).

Jakub allowed three runs (one earned) in five innings in the 2011 European Championship Qualifiers and got the win over Poland and former minor leaguer Kris Dabrowiecki. He played briefly for Hrosi Brno in 2013, going 1 for 5. In the 2015 B-Level European Championship, he allowed four runs in eight innings to beat Slovenia and was 4 for 8 with two walks, two runs and a RBI on offense, getting the game-winning hit versus Ukraine. He tied for 8th in the event in ERA and was 8th in opponent average (.235, between Serhiy Shtapura and Slobodan Gales).
