Biographical Information[edit]

Kris Dabrowiecki pitched in the minors and for the Polish national team.

Born in Poland, he grew up in Canada. The Milwaukee Brewers took him in the 34th round of the 2004 amateur draft out of high school. He did not sign, going to the US for college. He was 3rd on the Northeastern University career win list (21) and 6th in K (236). [1] He got to pitch against Josh Beckett in an exhibition game, facing David Ortiz. [2] Undrafted after college, he signed with Milwaukee. He split 2009 between the AZL Brewers (3 Sv, 2.93 in 12 G) and Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (0-1, 15 R in 7 1/3 IP).

After his pro career, he pitched for Poland in the 2011 European Championship Qualifier. He relieved Marek Deska with a 3-3 tie in the 9th against Slovakia but allowed six of seven to reach, giving up 6 runs (5 earned) before Łukasz Snopek took over. He took the loss against Jakub Okasa. His other game, he started against Belgium and did better (10 H, 6 BB, 5 K, 5 R, 5 ER in 6 2/3 IP) in a loss to Robbe De Jongh and Belgium. He had the highest ERA on Poland's four-man staff, behind John Dobkowski, Deska and Snopek. He led the event in losses. [3]
