Biographical Information[edit]

Jake Burns has played in the minors and for the Australian national team.

Burns represented Australia in the 2018 U-15 Baseball World Cup, hitting .267/.478/.667 with two homers and eight RBI in six games, tying for the home run lead. [1] He next appeared for them in the 2019 U-18 Baseball World Cup, going 2-for-15 with two walks and a run, handling 15 chances error-free while backing up Chris Burke at catcher. [2] He was 3-for-20 with the Sydney Blue Sox in 2020-2021, and the St. Louis Cardinals signed him. He hit .205/.316/.304 with the FCL Cardinals in 2021, and his batting line was .192/.345/.277 for the Palm Beach Cardinals in 2022. In between, Burns was 6-for-10 in Sydney in 2021-2022, and he went 3-for-6 in FCL in 2023. He also had a 1-for-17 record in Palm Beach in '23, and the Cardinals released him. Burns then represented Australia the 2023 Asia Professional Baseball Championship, and he was 0-for-3 against Japan. That was his only appearance in the entire event, and Chinese Taipei beat his nation in the Bronze Medal game. [3] He hit .094/.318/.188 for the Blue Sox in 2023-2024, and he represented Australia in the 2024 U-23 Baseball World Cup.
