Jacinda Barclay was a pitcher with the Australian team in the 2008 Women's Baseball World Cup. It was her national team debut. In the 2010 Women's Baseball World Cup, she started in an upset win over Japan (the Gold Medal winner) then went the distance to beat Venezuela in the semifinals to get Australia to the Gold Medal Game; they won a Silver for their best finish (as of 2020).
In the 2012 Women's Baseball World Cup, she beat Venezuela and lost to Japan. In the Bronze Medal Game, she allowed two runs in 1/3 of an inning against Canada. She led Australia with 12 1/3 IP, tied with Yaima Ramos for 6th in the event. Her four appearances tied her for 8th.
She was 1-0 with a 2.10 ERA in the 2014 Women's Baseball World Cup, once again beating Venezuela, this time in relief. Australia won the Bronze. She fell to 0-2, 3.28 in her final appearance, the 2016 Women's Baseball World Cup, losing decisions to Taiwan and Venezuela, again getting the ball against top opponents. She tied for 4th in losses (behind Mariam Shafiq, Yu-Chen Hsu and Chittari Chandu Priya. She led in Australia in games pitched (4) and IP (10 2/3, 2 2/3 ahead of Brittany Hepburn) and beat the team average in ERA. She tied Ayami Sato, Maria Rincon, Rak-yung Kim and Nabila Nawaz for 8th in mound appearances.
She also played Australian-rules football professionally for the GWS Giants, as well as American football for the Chicago Bliss in the Legends Football League.
While not competing, she worked as a professional diver among various occupations. She died at age 29 in her hometown. While the death was not considered suspicious, her family shared a message concerning mental health issues at that time.
