Outfielder Iván Torres was 0 for 6 with a run for the Costa Rican national team in the 2017 Central American Games; in one appearance, he faced his brother Pedro Torres, pitching for Nicaragua, and struck out. The brothers were born in Costa Rica to a Nicaraguan father and had both been playing in Nicaragua. It is unclear how many times brothers faced off in an international tournament - in the 2009 Baseball World Cup, Kenley Jansen and Didi Gregorius played for the Netherlands while Ardley Jansen and Johnny Gregorius (plus Didi Gregorius Sr.) played for the Netherlands Antilles.
