Biographical Information[edit]

Iram Khalid has played for the Pakistani women's national team.

Khalid was the starting catcher in Pakistan's women's team debut, in the 2016 Women's Baseball World Cup. She was their second batter ever, after Humaira Khan, grounding out against Jung-hee Kang of South Korea. Her first time reaching was when Ho-Ying Au of Hong Kong walked her. She finished the Cup 0-for-11 with two walks and a run, fielding .846 and allowing 46 steals without catching a runner. The next-most steals came off her back-up, Sadia Begum (35). [1]

She made history again in the 2017 Women's Baseball Asian Cup, getting the first hit in the inaugural Women's Baseball Asian Cup, off Yik-Shan Hung of Hong Kong. Her single off Hana Imai of Japan saved Pakistan from being no-hit by the champs. She finished the Cup 3 for 10 with a run, fielding .857 and allowing 24 steals in 24 tries. She played 3B and DH in addition to catcher. Only Khan had more hits for Pakistan. She did not allow the most steals, finishing behind teammate Saira and Manisha Chaudhary. She was named the Cup's All-Star catcher, the first Pakistani to be named to a women's cup All-Star team. Among those she beat out were Shih-Yun Lee and Kanako Endo. [2]
